Lodge, of Downton Hall. Early C19. Coursed stone rubble; Welsh
slate roof; brick diagonal stacks, double to left, with large
stone caps. Tower with wing to left. 2-storeys under 8-faceted
roof; single-storey and attic to left. Each face has fixed
mullion light with glazing bars, that to front replaced by C20
casement; ornamented eaves boards with pendants. Ground floor:
2-light casements, that to front having one leaded light;
plank door in beaded case; all under shouldered stone
drip-courses; rustic pentice-roofed porch with ornamented
fascia. Wing to left has C20, 2-light casement under
shouldered drip-course; gable roof-dormer over, with C19,
2-light casement; deep eaves with cusped barge-boards; C20
barge-boards to left returned side. To rear: C20 single-storey
wing; paired diagonal brick stacks.
