Row of houses. Early to mid C19. Stucco. Roofs not visible. Nos 2 and 10 set
forward slightly with rusticated quoins. 4 storeys. Each house 4 windows wide
(No 2 is 3 windows wide with rounded corner and return to left). Channelling to
ground floor. Unfluted Doric porches. Continuous balustraded first floor
balcony. Square headed windows, architraves mainly sashed, French casements to
first floor; glazing bars. Cornices to first and second floor windows. Console
cornice above third floor and balustraded parapets (removed to No 8). Area
railings. No 2 with its acute angle faces in towards and helps to close the view
south from Chesham Place. West side of Chesham Street is in Royal Borough of
Kensington and Chelsea.
