House, now public house. c1700, with C19 and C20 alterations.
Painted render at front, with brick stacks at right end and
centre of pantile roof. 2-storey 4-window front. Left of
centre door of 6 sunk panels. Single-light window at centre
right possibly enlarged firewindow. Other windows are of 2 or
3 lights, and either large-pane sliding sashes or
square-latticed with top-hung lights. All windows have painted
sills and C20 louvred shutters. One- and 2-storey ranges of
stables and outbuildings attached to rear; coursed stone and
brick with pantile roofs. Irregular fenestration with pairs of
double doors, and stable doors and windows. Above a single
small window and a loft door. South-east rear gable wall has
an upper loft door. This is the most complete inn yard to
survive in Malton.
