Milestone at NGR SX 2756 8317

Milestone. Probably late C18 or early C19. White-painted small granite monolith rectangular on plan with rounded head. Letter L (for Launceston) carved on front with figure 4 below. Later bench mark carved on top.

Roads leading to Launceston were built under Turnpike Act of 1760.

The asset was previously listed twice also at List entry 1328101. The duplicate entry was removed from the List on 21 July 2017.

This entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 21 July 2017.
