Congregational Church, now used as storage building. 1865. Rubble with stone
dressings, slate roofs with raised coped verges and kneelers. Nave, south east
turret, east porch. Neo-Norman style. 3-bay nave has 2 round-headed windows
with chevron carving at the heads, ashlar surround, octagonal turret with prominent
quoins, round-headed slit windows and embattled parapet; porch has round-headed
opening with chevrons carved at soffit of arch, jamb shafts on plain pedestals
with scalloped capitals, string course above capitals, round-headed side lights,
plank door with decorative strap hinges, name stone in gable, very worn, roll
finial. South elevation of nave has large circular window with splayed glazing
bars; north elevation has door and 4-pane window in chamfered ashlar surround,
round-headed lancet in gable; plinth and quoins. West elevation and interior
not accessible; in poor condition at time of survey, (August 1984), overgrown in
part with ivy.
