House and shop divided by through passageway. Originally two
late C17 ranges at right angles to street with a common street
facade rebuilt after a fire on the site in 1684. Two storeys
with attics. Local brick, rendered. Steeply pitched plain tile
roof with parapet gables and end stack to north-west. Deep,
moulded, wooden cornice with modillions. Three flat roofed
dormer windows. Five first floor hung sash windows with glazing
bars. Central modern panelled door, reeded doorcase and fan-
light. Early C19 three-light hung sash window with patterned
glazing bars to north-west. Modern shop windows and door to
south-east. Formerly the Crown Inn (until c.1900).
