Includes: No.1 CHURCH GATE.
House row. Later C16, restored in later C20. Square-panelled
timber-framing with some straight braces; painted brick
infilling. Plain tiled roof with ridge cresting to left. Ridge
stacks to right and left of centre. Two gabled dormers to
left. Two storeys with attic to left; continuously jettied
first floor with jetty carried by brackets and some curved
braces to bressumer. Irregular four window first floor,
casements, with four ground floor canted bay windows under the
jetty, three C20 wooden doorcases and boarded doors. Entrance
to No 1 Church Gate in east end wall. The frame retains
various carpenter's marks.
From c1820 until 1971 this building was the Coach and Horses
Public House.
