C1840, remaining 2 houses of a terrace of four. Two storeys red brick finely
pointed. Stucco plinth. Eaves band to shallow boxed eaves of slate roof.
Single and 2 bay fronts, No 71 with a near contemporary one bay extension to
match. Revealed glazing bar sashes, stucco sills; ground floor windows have
panelled stucco heads flanked by acanthus leaf shallow consoles with thin
cornices over. Two main doorways at head of 3 stone steps, incised panelled
pilasters with small anthemion motif, entablatures with projecting cornices.
4 panel doors with door-head moulding returned to plain reveals; marginal
glazed rectangular fanlights, side passage door in extension to No 71.
Unaltered example of modest early C19 domestic housing in jewellery quarter.
