Parish church. C12, C13, C14, C15. Chapel, 4 bays nave, aisles, vestry,
north and south porches and west tower with spire. Limestone, aisles and
nave with plain parapets and lead roofs. Tower built 1409 by Thomas Knight,
the rector, originally 200 feet hight. Rebuilt after spire struck by
lighting 1804. 5 stages. Battlemented parapet,crocketted pinnacles and
spire. Spire octagonal with 3 tiers of lucarnes. Norman chancel.
Arcaded exterior south wall. 5 bays divided by tall shafts with carved
caps. Above arches is corbel table with carved heads. In left hand bay
Norman doorway with heavily moulded arch. Small Norman windows,Decorated
east chancel window. Nave clerestory six C14 windows each side. North
aisle mainly 5-light C16 windows, two Early English. South aisle one
Early English window, rest Perpendicular. Aisles C13, nave arcades
Perpendicular with piers having semi-octagonal projections. C13
Sedilia. C1800 Pulpit. Vault to Watts family of Hanslope Park,north
aisle, circa 1830.
