Stable block, 1793 by Soane. Coursed and dressed stone, ashlar to
central bay. Hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves. Central bay
2 storeys, slightly projecting with tall semicircular headed
archway, first floor band, semi-circular arched window on 1st floor,
flat cornice and pediment with clock in tympanium and small wooden
louvred bell turret. Flanking 1-storey wings each with arched recess
with sash window in tympan-um. Interior of carriage arch has plaster
barrel vault, arched entrances to staircases each side. Inner elevation
has coach house doors, arches at either end with stable ranges.
1-storey with slate roofs and louvred ventilators, stable doors with
arched fanlights. In the centre opposite the entrance is a higher
section with hipped slate roof and centre glazed door, architrave
surround in tall stone doorcase of Roman Ionic engaged columns,
entablature with bolecbon frieze, broken forward over columns, bracketted
frieze and scroll pediment with Tyringham Arms in centre. This doorcase
of c.1700 came from the earlier Hall situated near the church.
