1907. Architect, Withers and Meridith ("Architects to the Guild"). Roughcast.
Pitched tile roof with overhanging eaves (partly returned around gable),
taken on iron brackets. 2 storeys. Tapering buttresses at angles. Entrance
in verandah in antis supported by slender iron columns with entasis.
Windows are either casements with lead glazing bars, or shallow canted
bays (and 1 oriel) picturesquely disposed. Stained glass with art nouveau
designs in some. Lead gutter with roses and leafs in relief, forminging
exaggerated cornices over canted bays. Arch to rear entrance with crenellated
parapet: gates with rectilinear Joinery. Rectilinear internal joinery
in manner of CR Mackintosh, including staircase, 2 inglenook fireplaces,
and hall panelling. Brass Arts-and-Crafts surround to fire in south west
ground floor room. Brass art nouveau handle.
