Terrace house c.1744 by Joseph Pearce, altered early C19. Painted brick, concealed
roof. 4 storeys (top floor later addition). 2 windows wide. Ground floor has early
C19 shop front, the flanking house and shop doors framed by pilasters supporting
console stops of entablature-fascia; the display window with thin glazing bars
slightly projecting and curved in to shop door which is panelled and glazed to left;
panelled house door with rectangular fanlight to right. Upper floors have recessed
sash windows in stucco architrave. Parapet with coping. Rear elevation with
original brickwork, closet with weatherboarded timber framed south wall, segmental
arched windows. Interior retains fully panelled 1st and 2nd floor rooms and
stairwell, the stairs dog legged with closed strings and turned balusters and column
newels, simpler above 1st floor; plain and enriched box cornices etc.
