Farmhouse and adjoining farmbuildings, range of buildings later converted into
domestic accommodation. Early to mid C19, with some late C20 alterations. Uncoursed
stone rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. Gable-ended Welsh-slate roof with 2-span
hipped roof at right angles to rear wing of house and hipped roofs to ends of
farmbuildings. Red-brick stacks.
Plan and development: Double-depth plan house facing south; integral brick end stacks
and brick stack to ridge of left-hand rear ridge. Flanking ranges, former service
wing to right and farmbuilding to left-hand end. Left-hand wing partly converted to
domestic use in the late C20. The whole range forms the south side of the farmyard,
with the main U-plan range to the north (q.v.), including threshing barn, cartsheds
and shippons. Two storey house and lower 2 storey farmbuildings.
Exterior: Plinth. Symmetrical 3-bay front; bay 16-pane glazing bar sashes (each leaf
with 4-panes across and 2 up) with slightly-segmental ashlar heads. Central half-
glazed 6-panelled door (lower 3 panels moulded) with 3-part rectagular overlight, and
hipped stone porch with round-arched entrance, pair of C20 half-glazed doors and
small side windows with round-arched lintels. Flanking set-back adjoining
farmbuildings with segmental-headed 2-light wooden casements; openings of left-hand
end altered in the late C20. Rear of house with boxed 16-pane segmental-headed
glazing bar sashes, 2 to first floor and 3 to ground floor; also central 8-pane sash
to first floor.
Interior: Only partly inspected. Central staircase, looks mid - C19. Panelled
window shutters. Kitchen to rear with bench along rear wall.
