Farmhouse. Late C18 refronting of C17 building, with C19 and C20 alterations and
additions. Limestone ashlar front, rubble, rendered at left return, slate roof
with catslide to rear. U-plan formed by two single storey rear wings.
2 storeys and 5 windows, all sashes in plain surrounds, central first floor round-
headed sash with splayed glazing bars, central 6-panelled door with fanlight,
radial glazing bars, reeded lintel, flat roofed porch with pilasters, cornice and
parapet; band course above ground floor windows, quoin strips to sides, first
floor windows do not match internal floor level, visible across windows. Left
return has 12-pane window with hood mould lighting stair at first floor left,
small 20-pane sash in attic, catslide rear roof to ground floor level, to left
C20 window at ground floor and first floor 20-pane sash. Right return has small
attic light, to right 16-pane sash at ground floor and 4-pane sash first floor,
single storey addition with 2-light casement and stable door with strap hinges.
Rear has partly glazed wall at ground floor under catslide, inside covered area
rear of house has heavy plank and batten door, 20-pane sash; inner sides of wings
each have door. Interior: wide entrance hall with late C18/early C19 straight
stair, front left room has stone winder stair to first floor, continued in wood to
attic, boxed beams and moulded cornice; rear right room has large fireplace with
pointed segmental chamfered head, oven to right, panelled cupboards with pierced
heart to right and left, heavy beams.
