ST 76 NW KELSTON BATH ROAD (north-east side)

Italianate country villa. Dated 1835. Ashlar; slate roof with overhanging
bracketted eaves; ashlar stacks with cornice, the west one bears the date.
2 storeys. Garden elevation of 3 bays. To the left is a canted bay and to the
right is a projecting wing where the overhanging eaves form a broken pediment
which rests on pilaster strips. Glazing bar sash windows; tripartite on two
right bays of ground floor; all in plain architraves. The ground floor window
of the right wing has a bracketted cornice; the first floor window has a
balustraded balcony on brackets. A balcony with a pierced parapet runs around
the two left bays; supported on square columns forming an open loggia below.
At the west a low pierced wall extends for 5 yards and returns to a conservatory
and billiard room behind. Entrance elevation of 3 bays with projecting right
bay under a broken pediment; panelled door under fanlight. Lower 2 storey
service wing to right with three 2-light casement windows on plain surrounds.
