II

House, c1750 with later additions. Coursed rubble limestone with roughcast south
end, gritstone dressings, quoins and coped gable to south end. Intermediate and
north end ashlar ridge stacks anda stone slated roof. Irregular 'T' plan obscured
by later additions. East elevation: two storeys,four bays, that to south end an
addition or a refashioning of an earlier remnant. 2-light flush mullioned windows
with lozenge patterned cast iron frames, except at south west end, where the lozenge
pattern is in lead. Off-centre doorway with plain surround and moulded architrave
and six panelled door with upper four lights glazed, C19 flat roofed porch with
glazing bar lights to upper part. Rear wing has tall stair window with glazing
bars and shuttered reveals, lighting a good late C18 turned baluster staircase.
