House. Probably 1668 with early C19 and 1920s alterations. Timber-frame clad
in brick, half-hipped tile roof. T-plan, stack at junction with three engaged
shafts, outer two are 6-point star plan, central dimaond plan. Early C19
kitchen added at foot of T (north end). West front: mainly two storeys, except
one storey to left with 1920s hipped dormer in catslide roof over a 3-light
casement, irregular fenestration, three windows, 4-light casement to left,
two to right 2-lights, with segmental heads; entrance to left of centre with
tiled canopy, glazed door. Interior: roof has V-struts above collar, queen
struts below. Ovolo moulded beam in hall, doors in rooms above have triangular
heads. Graffito on lintel of fireplace in cross-wing: "AD 1668" repeated on
sandstone jamb.
