House. Early C17 with late C17, late C18 and late C19 alterations.
Timber-frame with wattle-and-daub infill, and painted brick. Two framed bays
of early C17 aligned north/south with two-bay brick addition of late C18 to
south; stack with three diamond shafts to middle of timber portion, a late
C19 addition on the middle, of the west side contains remnants of a probable
porch, the entrance would have opened into a lobby against the stack; stack
to south gable with two diamond shafts. West front: timber-framed part to
left with late C19 extension on front of two storeys with attic lit by 3-
light casement in gable; angled bay to ground floor and 3-light casement to
first floor, timber building behind blind on first floor, two C20 2-light
casements on ground floor; brick part to right three storeys high, two
windows: 2- and 3-light casements under segmental heads; ground floor: 4-
light casement to right, entrance to left with pedimented doorcase and
radially glazed fanlight, 6-panelled door. Framing: close-studding with
mid-rail to west front; north gable jettied, two rectangular panels to each
floor with straight tension and angle braces. Roof raised in late C17 by one
further rectangular panel; gable truss: two collars with queen struts, V-struts
in apex. In ground floor of south gable there is a 6-light ovolo-moulded mullion
and transom window.
