House. Late C16-C17, altered. Whitewashed roughcast over heavy
timber frame with curved wind-braces in roof. Thatched roof, brick
chimneys to centre and to east side between right-hand bays. 2 storeys
and attic, 5 bays. C20 wooden and metal casements. Ground floor of east
side has irregular 2, 3 and 4-light casements, first floor has 3-light
casements. C20 double glazed doors to left of second bay in gabled
roughcast porch with ornamental bargeboards, small single light above
to left. Side to road is irregular with thatched extension projecting
at right-angles to right and lean-to to remainder. Interior has re-sited
C15 moulded beam in ground floor room, wooden lintel dated 1655 EB,
probably re-used, and open fireplace of dressed stone with consecration
crosses . Short sections of garden wall attached to N.E. corner of
house and N.W. corner of extension have re-used fragments of medieval
ecclesiastical masonry, including a 2-light traceried window.
