Manor House in grounds. Early-mid C19 with earlier C17 build incorporated at
rear. Stone walls, rendered with a plat band and projecting stone cornice.
Slate roof, hipped. Rendered stacks at ridge, immediately left and right of
centre. 2 storeys. 5 windows in total, sashes with plate glass to ground
floor and glazing-bars in the upper half over. Front doorway at centre,
mid C19 with paired fielded-panels and bossed roundels at centre. 3 large
glass lights over, lighting the hall. Porch, with Roman Doric order carrying
an entablature with dentil cornice and flat stone top. South garden elevation.
3 windows wide,altered to 2-light French windows at ground and first floors,
in late C19. Porch on north side entrance, smaller version of main front porch.
Interior: wide central hall with 3 segmental transverse arches, fluted pilasters
with bossed imposts. Door reveals with chamfered fielded panels. Rib-panel
doors. Drawing Room has white marble fireplace, with reeded quarter-circles
framing the hearth. Billiard Room, C19, demolished 1970. Plan of house, 1890,
by Crickmays, at the house.
