Country House, now offices. Probably C17, mainly 1738 with C19 alterations.
Limestone ashlar and squared coursed and banded limestone and ironstone with C20
plain-tile roof. Originally courtyard plan, now enclosed. 2 storeys with attic.
Garden front: first floor of 7-window range of square casements with moulded
stone architraves. French doors at ground floor have similar surrounds with
cast-iron verandah over. Moulded stone cornice with plain parapet and hipped
roof. 3 roof dormers with pediments. Ashlar stacks at ridge. Entrance front to
left is similar of 6-window range with sash window at ground floor. Part-glazed
door to left of centre has moulded stone surround and hood over. Gable to far
left is probably C17 with banded limestone and ironstone, C18 occulus in apex.
Rear elevation to left of entrance front is C17 origin, rendered and remodelled
C19. Interior: entrance hall has C18 staircase with turned balusters and quarter
landings around an open well. Reeded wood columns between hall and staircase
well. Moulded plaster ceiling over staircase well. Cellar said to have
stone-mullioned windows.
