Two houses forming part of an altered symmetrical row. c1800, altered.
Deeply-coursed, dressed sandstone, Welsh slate and C20 tile roofs. 3:2:3:2
bays, the 2-bay parts are 2-storey and project to rear, other bays 1-storey;
original 3-bay part completing symmetry to right much altered and not of
special interest. 2-bay parts break forward and have wallstone plinths,
floor bands and eaves bands; C20 casements to each floor beneath flat arches,
No 24 occupying 2-storey part on left has door inserted on right of an
enlarged window with C20 bowed casement. Floor band continues as eaves band
to the 1-storey parts, the central range with 3 doorways, the wing to left
with blocked door flanked by casements and with door into later lean-to on
left. Hipped roofs with brick stacks to outer return of each 2-storey part.
Built in the style of estate housing by John Carr who is known to have worked
at Aston Hall and High Trees (q.v.).
