Largely C14 (consecrated 1321), but plan and parts of north-east wall possibly C13.
Flint and ironstone quoins. Four-bay nave; aisles; narrow transepts; long chancel.
East window and west tower are C15. Extensively restored in early C19, and in 1880
by J L Pearson, when dormer windows were included in the new roof. Monument to
Sir Christopher Clitherow (d.1685). Tower, which is conspicuous from High Street,
has large C18 clockface, with pediment and fluted pilasters.
