House. C16 or earlier with later alterations and additions. Probably timber
framed and plastered. Red plain tiled roofs. The house of H plan, is noteworthy
externally for its 4 huge external red brick chimney stacks. They are all
offset. There are 2 to left return, that to front with 3 octagonal shafts,
moulded capitals, bases and bands, the rear stack with 2 diagonal shafts, moulded
capitals, probably rebuilt. Central rear stack, 3 octagonal shafts, moulded
bands, capitals and bases. Right return stack has 4 similar octagonal shafts. 2
storeys and attics. The crosswing gables each with a small paned 2-light attic
window below which are the hipped roofs of angled 2 storey bays. 1:3:1 window
range of small paned vertically sliding sashes, No 4th first floor window, bays
of 3 lights. Central reproduction plank and muntin door, moulded surround.
There is a brick buttress to front chimney stack of left return and a single
storey front addition. The rear stack has a gabled bake oven, porch and C20 door
between these stacks. Single storey rear range. No internal inspection at time
of re-survey.
