House, late C16. 2 storeys. 2-cell lobby-entrance plan. Timber-framed and
plastered. Thatched roof with axial chimney, the shaft rebuilt in C19 red
brick. Various windows: in the gable facing the road is a 2-storey late C18
splayed bay window with flat roof and small-pane sashes. A C20 window has a
late C18 fanlight with delicate radiating bars, introduced from elsewhere. On
one side wall is a C19 conservatory with cast iron columns with traceried
brackets. A central chimney with open fireplace having a deep cambered
lintel. Several blocked or fragmentary diamond mullioned windows. Arch wind-
braced studwork, unchamfered floor joists. The coupled-rafter roof over the
larger cell gives evidence for a former half-hip.
