A purpose-built Police Station, with court room, cells and living accommodation
for a sergeant and constable: now a guest house. 1878. 2 storeys. In red and
white brick, now rendered, in a Victorian Tudor style. Roof of fishscale
slates. Central projecting 2-storeyed porch. Gable-end chimney-stacks, each
with 2 square shafts, set diamond-wise. Mullion-and-transome windows with
hood-moulds and ornate case metal casements. C20 door. The original plans
(undated) are amongst the modern material in the Suffolk Record Office, Ipswich,
Ref: 3313/19.
