GV II
Two houses, built late C16 as one 3-cell house. 2 storeys. Timber-framed and
pebble-dashed. Pantiled roof, once thatched. An axial chimney to right and
a gable chimnney to left, both with shafts rebuilt of C20 red brick. No.22
has late C20 small pane casements, and a flush entrance door with glazed
panel. No.24 has a C19 small-pane sash at ground storey and a small-pane
casement above, and a mid C19 6-panelled door. Unmoulded framing of c.1600
exposed internally: close studding; floor joists laid flat with very slight
chamfer; wind-braced clasped purlin roof. A good fitted corner cupboard of
late C18. There appears to be a chimney bay to left of the hall from which
the chimney has been removed; an open fireplace (blocked) to right probably
superceded it in C17/C18.
