Farmhouse. Early C17. Modernised c.1980 with addition of large wing to rear.
Timber framed and plastered with a thatched roof. 2 storeys and attic. 3-
cell, lobby entrance type. Mid C20 casement windows and half-door in open
lean-to porch. 2 original first floor windows with ovolo mullions have been
exposed, with another at the rear. Internal stack with rebuilt oblong shaft;
at the rear the base has an empty inset panel. A good frame with reversed
corner braces, mostly exposed internally. In the hall, an ovolo-moulded
bridging beam and square chamfered joists. The parlour also has an ovolo-
moulded bridging beam but here the joists were originally plastered over.
Both rooms had ovolo side cornices. 2 arched brick fireplaces on first floor.
Original newel stairs (2 flights). Roof has clasped and butt purlins with
arched wind-bracing.
