Detached house. C17 with C18 addition to east. Limestone and
flint bands to Cl7 part, English bond brick to C18 wing, tiled
roofs, brick stacks. T-plan. 2-storey, 4-window front. C19
panelled door with fanlight has porch on plain columns, to right is
12-pane sash, to left in Cl7 range is 12-pane tripartite sash and
3-light ovolo-mullioned window with mullions cut flush. First
floor has 12-pane sash to right, two 2-light casements to left and
C19 oriel to left. Dentilled eaves to hipped mansard roof of C18
wing. Left return has 3-light casement to ground floor and 2-light
casement to first floor. Right return has four 12-pane flush
sashes to ground and first floor; all with flat arches, dentilled
eaves and two raking dormers with 6-pane sashes to attic. Rear to
right has C19 porch and 3-light casement to ground floor and 2-
light casement to first floor. Cl7 projecting rear wing has 2-
light chamfered mullioned window with hoodmould to ground floor and
20-pane sash and 2-light casement to first floor of west side, C19
bay in Flemish bond added at north end. Rear of C18 wing has door
with 6 fielded panels and fanlight, 6-pane sash to first floor and
to attic dormer, dentilled eaves.
Interior not accessible at time of survey (November 1984), but said
to have good C18 newel stairs with stick balusters and ramped
handrail, arched opening to stairs has fluted pilasters, Cl7
ranges have chamfered beams and some timber-framed partitioning.
