House, C17 incorporating some medieval work, refaced (No 3) 1809.
Coursed dressed limestone. Stone slate roof. Two storeys and
attics. No 2 of one bay, No 3 of six bays. Door in simple stone
porch in third bay. Twelve-pane sashes with raised keystone and
platband. Moulded cornice and parapet concealing 2 raked dormers
to No 3. Two 12-pane sashes and gable light to gable end on road.
Left gable stack to No 2. The end gable has traces of a large 2-
centred medieval window said to be the remains of the Hospital of
St. John the Baptist, founded for travellers, pre-1231.
