8/247 Tea house in gardens, Heale House

GV II
Tea house, C19, erected c1900. Timber with thatched roof. The pavilion,
constructed in Japan by Japanese workmen, is set over branch off
River Avon on stone rough-cut stanchions arranged to ripple the
water. Round pole carcassing traditionally assembled, forming an
8-tatami tea room, and 2-tatami waiting bay. Walls of softwood
framed rice paper, with sliding partitions and openings. Stove
raised in corner.
