House, marked on O.S. map as 'The Vicarage'. Late C18/early C19. 2 storeys.
Colour-washed over red brick, laid in Flemish Bond; slate roof, fully hipped,
with wide, plain eaves. 4 window range: small-paned sashes, in flush frames
with gauged heads on the upper floor; 2 similar, but wider windows to the
ground floor, and 2 later narrow sashes on the east, replacing a former wide
early C19 shop window. Off-centre entrance door with 6 sunk panels and
applied mouldings, open triangular pediment with dentil ornament, panelled
pilasters and linings, fanlight with radiating glazing-bars. The building is
set sideways-on at the end of the Green, and in the gable facing the road is a
6-panel door with raised fielded panels which formerly gave access to the
shop. On the rear wall are 3 red brick chimney-stacks, and 2 later C19 wings
extend southwards. Plain interior.
