Farmhouse. C17 and C18. Timber framed with colourwashed render and C20
plain tiled roof, probably formerly thatched. Single storey with attic to
the C17 range and two storeys with attic to the C18 range. Entrance front:
lower range of 2 bays at right with a 3-light C19 casement to the ground
floor at left and one of 6 lights to the right. Two 3-light gabled dormer
windows to the attic floor above. Two-flue stack to the ridge slightly at
left of centre. The C18 range at left of this has a door of 6 flush panels
at right of centre and at right of this a 3-light C19 casement and at left
two similar windows. To the first floor are three 3-light C19 casements.
The attic has three 2-light gabled dormer windows with shallow-pitched
roofs. Ridge stack at left of centre of 2 flues. Left hand gable end: C19
half-glazed door to the ground floor with two lower flush panels and 3 x 3
upper glazed panes and a moulded surround. Sash window to the first floor
of 5 x 4 panes. Right hand gable end: first floor casement. Rear: the C17
range at left has a stable door flanked by 3-light casement windows. Two
skylights to the attic roof. The C18 range at right of this has a ½-glazed
doorway at right with an overlight. To right of this is a 3-light C19
casement and to left two similar windows. The first floor has two 3-light
windows at left and a 2-light casement above the doorway. Four skylights
to the attic roof.
Interior: C17 chamfered ceiling beams to the lower range at ground floor
level and slender pine beams to the C18 range.
