Detached house. Mid C17, enlarged late C17 at north west end.
Dressed limestone, tiled roof, formerly thatched, brick stacks.
Baffle entry from late C17 when front door moved from centre to
right hand of original build. Two-storey, 5-window front.
Gabled C20 porch to right of centre; straight joint, 4-light and
3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement to right and 3-light
ovolo-mullioned casement, blocked doorway and C20 mullioned
casement to left. First floor has 3-light C20 mullioned casement,
3-light and 2-light ovolo-mullioned casement to left of straight
joint and two C20 mullioned casements to right, raised eaves.
Right return has single light casement to ground floor, diamond
leaded casement to attic and 2-light casement to first floor.
Left return has 2-light C20 casement to first floor. Rear has
three C20 steel casements, French windows, planked door and glazed
door with one recessed chamfered casement, formerly lighting stairs
to left.
Interior has chamfered beams with stepped stops and open fireplace
with cambered chamfered lintel on stone jambs to late C17 build,
earlier C17 build has chamfered beam with scrolled stops, blocked
fireplace. 1950s alterations included moving of stairs to present
position within north stack and removal of thatch.
