Warehouses. Late C18/early C19. Killas rubble walls, brick
arches, some timber lintels of reused ships' timbers;
corrugated asbestos roofs; brick chimney over left-hand gable
end. 2 adjoining rectangular warehouses end-to-end. 2 storey
4-window range warehouse on the left, and 2-storey plus attic
5-window range C18 warehouse on the right. 4-window front has
doorway with old panelled door, towards the right, otherwise
openings have C20 windows or are boarded-up; heightened first
floor is rendered; windows are old 12-pane casements. Other
front has ground floor openings boarded-over except for C20
window on left; first-floor windows are old 8-pane 2-light
casements. Loading doorway, with hoist, over left-hand window,
2nd floor otherwise blind. INTERIOR not inspected. Shown on
plan of c1815. The loading end of the left-hand warehouse
abuts onto what used to be nearly the navigable extent of the
River Kenwyn later to be named Lemon Quay. Included for their
group value with the Lemon Street development and for their
historical interest in illustrating the commercial activity of
Late Georgian Truro.
