Includes: No.36 OAKFIELD ROAD Clifton.
Terrace of 16 houses. Limestone ashlar, party wall stacks and
slate and pantile mansard roof. Double-depth plan. Late
Georgian style with Greek Revival decoration.
Each of 3 storeys, basement and attic; 1-window range. A
stepped terrace with a banded ground floor, pilasters above
with incised palmette decoration to a frieze, cornice and
parapet, and coped party walls. Left-hand recessed doors have
overlights with margin panes and 6-panel doors. Architraves to
6/6-pane sashes, larger on the first floor, which has
bracketed slate balconies with various cast-iron railings;
dormers. The left-hand house has a 2-window range with an
early C20 shop front under a cornice with a segmental
pediment, and a 2-window range left return with a pediment
over the shop window; hipped roof.
INTERIOR: entrance hall with a semicircular arch, a central
lateral dogleg winder stair with stick balusters, cupboards
between the stairs and party wall, 6-panel doors and panelled
shutters.
