Houses. Late C16/early C17 (No.96) and late C18 (No.95). No.96
built of timber-frame with C18/19 brick infill; No.95 of
colour-washed brick; gabled plain tile roofs, with steeper
pitch to No.96; C18/19 brick ridge stacks. Each cottage of
1-unit plan.
2-storeys; 4-window range. C20 plank door to No.96, and
segmental brick arch over C19 plank door to No.95. Segmental
brick arches over late C19/early C20 two-light casements to
No.95; similar C20 casements to No.96. C19 rubble stone
lean-to to left of No.95.
INTERIOR: square-section beam and C17 reused purlins to No.95.
No.96 has exposed timber-frame with diagonal wall bracing and
wattle and daub infill; C17 split-oak joists to ground floor;
2-bay roof with wattle and daub infill to queen-post truss
supported on tie beam and jowled posts of heavy scantling;
queen-strut truss against right-hand wall (to No.94 Corve
Street (qv)).
