House. Built between 1822 and 1836. Pebble dashed front elevation,
with flint to returns, and ashlar to rear. Slate roof. Two storeys
and basement with string course, cornice and parapet to hipped roof
with 2 stacks to left. Three glazing bar sashes on first floor, and
2 French windows with fanlights and louvred shutters on ground floor
and half-glazed door to right with rectangular fanlight. Ground floor
verandah with tented roof supported on baluster piers, with trellised
sides. Basement opening to left return. This house predates the development
of Vale Square by J.C. Eddels (see item 12/389 for historical details).
