II*
House. Late C15 Wealden hall-house restored in C20.
Timber-framed building, close-studded with plaster infilling
on mainly stone plinth but red brick to left hand side. 2
storeys 4 windows. The 1st floor of the end window bays
oversails on the protruding ends of the floor joists and
brackets. The eaves between oversail on curved braces and a
bracket. 2 storeys, 4 windows. C20 restored mullions including
tall hall window. Southern ground floor window consists of 2
wide lights with four-centred heads. Original four-centred
arched doorcase with quatrefoil carving to spandrels and plank
door. South front also has jetty to 1st floor. Interior has
dais beam, inserted C16 ceiling to former open hall and open
fireplace with wooden bressumer. Octagonal crown post.
