House, now hotel and restaurant. Datestone 1668. Coursed limestone rubble;
gabled stone slate roof; brick end stacks. L-plan with rear right wing. 2
storeys and attic; double-gabled 2-window range. Timber lintel over central C20
double doors: scrolled wrought-iron brackets support segmental hood above.
Timber lintel over C20 door to left. Timber lintels over early C19 eight-pane
sashes, and C17 three-light wood-mullioned windows to attics. Interior:
stop-chamfered beams to front range. Built for Alexander Johnson, mercer and
alderman.
