Church. C12, C14, C15 and C19. Ashlar, graduated slate roof. West tower,
nave with north and south aisles and south porch, chancel with north vestry.
West tower: C15, 3 stages. Plinth. Offset diagonal buttresses. Clockface
below a C15 2-light pointed-arched cusped belfry window. Stone band,
embattled parapet. West side has large 3-light Perpendicular window with
hoodmould; above it a single-light cusped opening and a belfry window
similar to other sides. Nave: 3 bays. Plinth. Gabled C19 south porch on
left with pointed arched opening, chamfered coping, gable cross. The inner
board door has C12 Norman surround and in the arch one order of radially
placed bulls heads, one of a zigzag and a hoodmould of radial lobes. To
right, two 2-light pointed-arched C19 windows divided by an offset buttress.
Stone coping. North aisle similar. Chancel: 3 bays, separated by offset
buttresses. Plinth. Pointed-arched priests' doorway with hoodmould, to
right of central window. Windows are C19 2-light pointed-arched, cusped
with hoodmoulds. Moulded eaves, stone coping. East window: C19 5-light
Perpendicular-style pointed-arched cusped window with hoodmould. North
vestry C19. Interior: 3-bay north and south arcades, C14 nave. Octagonal
piers with plain moulded capitals, arches chamfered with hoodmoulds.
Chancel arch similar. Some heads from the Norman corbel table are reset in
the south aisle inside to support its roof. Chancel: C14 sedilia of 3
cusped openings with hoodmould and crocketing, similar piscina. C14 cusped
Easter sepulchre with frieze of naturalistic leaves and crocketed. Niches
to either side of east window have vaulted canopies with ogee details,
probably C14.
