Cottage. Probably C18, possibly earlier, refurbished in late C19. Plastered cob on
stone rubble footings; stone rubble or brick stacks with late C19 brick chimney
shafts and one Rolle Estate chimney pot; thatch roof.
2-room plan cottage facing east onto High Street. The left (southern) room has a
front lateral stack, the right room has a rear lateral stack. Outshot to rear of
left room. 2 storeys.
Irregular 2-window front of C19 casements of various sizes and containing
rectangular panes of leaded glass. The ground floor right window has 1 light with
glazing bars, the other leaded in C20. Doorway a little right of centre contains
late C19 - early C20 4-panel door and C20 gabled end slated hood on raking struts.
The stack to left has a tall chimney shaft and the wall to left recesses slightly.
Interior not available for inspection at time of survey but the owners says that
there is no exposed carpentry detail and that the roof is inaccessible.
No. 11 High Street is one of a group of attractive and varied buildings, most of
them listed, which line High Street as it rises to the Church of All Saints (q.v.).
