House. Late C17 and late C18. Timber-framed and plastered with
red Flemish-bond brick front. Asymmetrical clay pantile roof
with gables and Suffolk very boards. Gabled pantiled rear
staircase tower and further extension with C20 concrete
pantiles.
INTERIOR: 2 storeys and low attic storey part in roof. Front
has parapet with coping stepping up to centre. Second floor
has 3 horizontal proportioned attic windows with recessed
double-hung sashes and small panes under flat rubbed brick
arches. First floor has one square double-hung sash with
square panes each side of central blind window all with flat
rubbled brick arches. Ground floor has 2 similar, but deeper,
windows and central doorcase with moulded architrave, reeded
frieze and flat door hood. Door recessed with flush panelled
flanks with 2 glazed lights over 4 flush panels each with
reeded frames. Late C17 timber-frame with principal members
chamfered with lamb's tongue stops. 2 equal bays and central
narrow stack/staircase bay, stack now gone.
INTERIOR: winder stair in stair tower has heavy turned
balusters. One rear frame post has jowl-like head with bold
cyma profile.
