C15 open hall-house with C17 wing and inserted chimneystacks, restored. Ground floor
partly curved tile hung, partly timber-framed with diagonal braces and red brick
infilling. Tiled roof with one gable. Five casement windows. Modern wing on red
brick and tile hung. The interior contains steeply sloping arched braces to the
open crown post trusses. Jowled upright posts. Wooden diamond mullions remain for
the hall window. This was probably a weaver's house. (See Joan M Harding "Four
Centuries of Charlwood Houses" p 87).
