Lodge. 1814. By John Shaw for the Second Earl of Uxbridge. Red
brick with ashlar dressings; brick stacks with lozenge shaped shafts.
Aligned north-west/south-east facing north-east. Tudor Gothic style.
2-storey centrepiece with octagonal corner turrets capped by ogee-shaped
domes, and a 4-centred gateway arch with mullioned 3-light oriel window
above. The gatehouse is attached to a pair of flanking 2-storey towers
with corner finials by single-storey flat roofed links which are balanced
on the outer side of the towers by single-storey flat roofed annexes
with inserted C20 casements. Chamfered plinth and plain parapets throughout.
7 window front: 2 and 3-light chamfer mullioned windows with rebated
surrounds and straight hood moulds. Grand Lodge formerly served Beaudesert
Hall (q.v.).
