Farmhouse. Mid C18 with early C19 addition to left. Limewashed rubble, pantiled
roofs and renewed brick stacks. Long, narrow rectangular plan. Early C18 range has
2 storeys, 4 windows. Massive stone plinth. 2 steps up to C19 3-panel door with
overlight at left. Blocked original doorway and a 16-pane horizontal sliding sash
window to right. Remaining windows have C19 4-pane sashes and all windows have
wedge lintels of oak. Plain close eaves. Low, coped gable parapet with kneelers.
Moderately-pitched roof includes some black-glazed pantiles. C20 brick gable stacks.
Attached lower early C19 range to left: 2 storeys, 2 windows. 4-pane sashes. Low
pitched roof, hipped at left, has C20 central ridge stack. Single-bay left return.
Interior: C18 range has one ground floor room with ceiling beams of differing
widths. Some of these beams are chamfered, some are plain and all may have been
re-used from an earlier building. 3 pairs of heavy upper crucks are partly visible
in first floor bedrooms of C18 range. 2 pairs of thin upper crucks also partly
visible in the early C19 addition.
