1161 (datestone on No 27). Of the C17 house the doors either end of the screens
passage survive. Fenestration, however, is C18 or early C19. Hammer dressed
stone. Pitched stone slate roof. 2 storeys. Doors to screens passage have
4-centred heads, with hollow spandrels and moulded surrounds on south side,
and with a plain chamfer on north side. No 23 has one 4-light and one 3-light
stone mullioned window on 1st floor, and one 5-light stone mullioned window
on ground floor. Extension to east, rendered, and with mainly C19 windows,
may represent the parlour wing. No 25 has one 8-light stone mullioned window
(2 lights blocked) on 1st floor, and one 7-light stone mullioned window on
ground floor. C18 or early C19 wing to north has modern windows. No 27, rendered,
may represent the office wing two 2-light stone mullioned sashes (with arched
frames) on 1st floor, one 4-light stone mullioned sash on ground floor.
