C19 stone obelisk an moulded plinth bearing the 14 and 15 Vic c.146 and with cast iron frill coat of arms of the City of London with supporting beasts and motto below set at about 1/3 the height of the post. Coal tax posts marked the boundary for the collection of tax an coal entering London.
