C17 or C18. Single span stone arched packhorse bridge over Haigh Clough. Slightly
projecting string course forms base to parapet of coursed rubble. Semi-circular
copings. Internal width of bridge approximately 4'6". The walking surface of the
bridge is of rough stone setts. The bridge is on the main pack-horse route from the
Colne Valley over Close Moss towards Rochdale. Similar to Mellor Bridge in Marsden.
Scheduled Ancient Monument.
