Farmhouse. Probably mid C18 origin remodelled about 1830 for Evans family of
Laxton Hall. Squared coursed limestone with slate roof. Originally T-shape plan.
2 storeys with attic. 3-window range of casements under shallow stone arches;
some windows are mid C20 replacements. Central panelled door is also under
shallow stone arch. 3 gabled dormers with casement windows. Ashlar gable
parapets and brick and stone stacks at end. Later C19 and C20 extension to left.
Rear wing is similar to main front, interior net inspected but rear wing may
have open fireplaces, now blocked. Forms part of model farm with barn and
attached farmbuildings approximately 30 metres north-west of Home Farmhouse
(q.v.), farm buildings and attached dovecote approximately 30 metres south-west
of Home Farmhouse (q.v.) and Dutch barn and attached cartsheds approximately 75
metres west of Home Farmhouse (q.v.).
